Discover sandstone teepees on a wilderness hike in the Kanab desert in Utah!
You'll meet your guide in Kanab, before setting off for an hour's drive to the starting point of your hike. You'll start your day exploring Wire Pass, a slot canyon that's part of Buckskin Gulch. Next, you'll venture off the beaten track to reach the sandstone teepees in the Coyote Buttes area, famous for their impressive geological colors and shapes. Far from the crowds, these formations will offer you an experience of total immersion in nature. Along the way, you'll also spot Native American petroglyphs and rarely-seen arches. This challenging hike, about 19 km long, will take you through varied terrain and uncrowded areas, perfect for adventure seekers.
You'll have the opportunity to explore the Paria Canyon Wilderness and the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, while enjoying the tranquility of these rarely visited places. This day promises to plunge you into the heart of breathtaking desert landscapes, far from the usual tourist crowds.
