Located in Tadoussac, the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre is packed with fascinating activities! This scientific museum is run by the Group for Research and Education on Marine Mammals and has become one of the most popular attractions in the Tadoussac region.
Once you arrive at the site, try to spot the beluga and minke whales and seals that sometimes swim up the Saguenay River. Once inside the museum, you can learn more about marine mammals and the scientific research into these impressive creatures. You'll see a 13m sperm whale skeleton, a narwhal tooth and the largest collection of whale skeletons in Canada! You'll also plunge into the world of whale sounds and learn about their famous song.
Naturalists will be on hand to answer all your questions. They'll explain how scientific research is progressing and give you the latest news on what offshore researchers are up to. At the end of your visit, you can relax in the Jardin de la Grève, home to 5,500 plants typical to this region. You'll also see 5 life-size beluga whale sculptures!
