Explore the Canyon des Portes de l'Enfer on a variety of unforgettable hikes!
You'll begin your adventure in the heart of the Canyon des Portes de l'Enfer regional park, an exceptional natural site located just a few kilometers from Rimouski. You'll follow a number of trails through breathtaking scenery.
A variety of trails are available in the park to suit all abilities:
- "Le Sentier du Draveur", a 5.2 km trail (2.3 km via a shortcut) offering a breathtaking view of the suspended footbridge and the spectacular Descente aux Enfers. This historic trail leads all the way to Chaud Falls.
- The "Sentier du Grand Sault", 1 km long (2 km including the portage trail), allows you to admire the majestic Grand Sault Falls and reach the banks of the Rimouski River. This trail also connects with the Sentier du Draveur via the portage trail.
- The "Sentier du Marais", for a nature break, a short 0.5 km trail leading to a lookout overlooking a marsh rich in biodiversity. This trail is ideal for observing various species of birds and ducks, thanks to its interpretation panels.
- The "Sentier du Pin", an 8.5 km loop with no steps, takes you to the tip of Lac Petit Macpès via a century-old pine tree. This trail is perfect for canicross enthusiasts. Please note that during the crossbow hunting season, this trail will be closed for the safety of hikers.
Throughout your hikes, you'll have the opportunity to stop at the many lookouts offering spectacular views of the canyon and its waterfalls.
