Discover the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) from Seoul, with an optional crossing of a historic suspension bridge!
You will meet your English-speaking guide in Seoul and board a bus heading toward the DMZ, the buffer zone between South and North Korea. Your first stop will be Imjingak, a memorial park located near the North Korean border.
Next, you’ll board a military-designated shuttle bus to access the Third Infiltration Tunnel. Dug by North Korea as part of a surprise invasion plan, the tunnel offers a fascinating glimpse into the military tensions of the region. You’ll then continue to Dora Observatory, where you can enjoy sweeping views of North Korea and the surrounding landscapes.
The tour concludes with a visit to the Unification Village, a symbolic site that embodies the hope of reunification between the two Koreas.
This experience also includes a unique opportunity to meet a North Korean defector and hear her raw, personal account of escaping the North. You’ll be able to ask her questions and gain deeper insight into life on the other side of the border.
You will be taken back to your starting point in Seoul by early afternoon.
You may choose to extend your excursion with one of two optional suspension bridge experiences:
Optionally, you can extend your tour with a suspension bridge crossing:
- Option 1: Mount Gamaksan Suspension Bridge - After a short 15-minute hike, you'll reach the suspension bridge perched above a valley marked by military history. You'll enjoy impressive views of the mountainous region.
- Option 2: Majang Lake Suspension Bridge - You'll cross one of Korea's longest suspension bridges (220 meters), built on a former Korean War battlefield. Today, the site is a symbol of peace and remembrance.
