Don't miss the opportunity to see one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world from the sea!
You'll be taken by bus to Santorini's new port, Athinios, to board a caïque, a traditional Greek wooden boat.
After a 20-minute ride, you'll arrive at Néa Kameni. This islet is actually the summit of the active volcano that gave birth to the island you see today on the Santorini archipelago. If you like, you can hike to the summit (about 1.5 hours walk) to get as close as possible to the volcano's crater. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy superb views of the volcano and the island (an admission fee of €5 per person will be charged on the spot).
You'll get back on the boat and set off towards a new island: Paléa Kaméni, famous for its hot springs. Your caïque will stop for around 30 minutes just off the beach of Agios Nicholaos, which you can swim to. Its shallow muddy water is rich in sulphur, iron and other metals from the volcano, and is said to do wonders for the skin, rheumatism and arthritis.
After navigating over the underwater craters, your third and final stop will be the traditional island of Tharissia. You'll have 30 minutes of free time to enjoy a swim or explore the small coves along the harbour.
Once back on board, the boat will then get as close as possible to the town of Oia, which has the best sunset views. Settle back and take in a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean and the sun setting on the horizon. An unforgettable moment that will leave you with fantastic memories of your time in Santorini.
You'll be offered a glass of white wine and traditional Greek mezze on board as you watch the sun reflect off the volcano's cliffs and crater. A unique sight, perfect for Insta-worthy snaps!
Once dusk falls, you'll return to the port of Athinios where a bus will be waiting to take you back to a drop-off point near your hotel.
