Venture into New Zealand's Southern Alps with this hike on the famous Routeburn Track!
Starting in Queenstown, you'll head to Glenorchy Road. On the way you will stop to admire Lake Wakatipu.
At the end of the road you will enter Mount Aspiring National Park and begin your hike on the Routeburn Track. You will cross the suspension bridge and enter the beautiful beech forest. The path is flat, allowing you to admire the local fauna and flora throughout the hike.
You will therefore have the opportunity to see a magical world of ferns, mosses, lichens and beech trees over 130 million years old. The wide variety of flora and fauna is sure to impress you. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to take photos of the crystal clear waterfalls and rivers.
Along the hike, your guide will also take the opportunity to tell you about the historical significance of this trail and how it was used by Maori and European pioneers.
If you choose to do the full day hike, you'll continue your journey over the valley and be rewarded with spectacular views and a picnic lunch.
