Description

Discover Oak Alley, one of New Orleans's oldest plantations and head to the heart of Louisiana's' swamps!

Departing from New Orleans, you'll go to the Destrehan plantation, an estate built in 1787 on the banks of the Mississippi River. Your guide will tell you all about the Destrehan family and the plantation's history as well as its architectural features. You'll also see recreated period costume scenes to give you an idea of what life was like back in the day.  

You'll then head to the bayou and take a boat trip through the Manchac swamps.  You'll be able to see alligators up-close in this privately-owned area!
