Make the most of your stay in Quebec by exploring Native American culture and Canadian nature!
- Day 1 – Arrival at Baluchon Eco Resort
Start your stay gently with a relaxing day at the Baluchon Eco Resort. Located in a dreamlike setting, this 25km resort offers the comfort of a 4-star hotel.
It’s up to you whether you go for a walk or a bike ride, do some yoga or meditate on the water’s edge or even make the most of the pool, sauna or jacuzzi.
Your day will end with a dinner prepared by a renowned herbalist chef.
- Day 2 – Activities in Baluchon Eco Resort and seaplane flight to Native American village of Matakan
Spend the morning at the Eco Resort, where you can try your hand at archery or even geocaching.
After breakfast, you will head to the Saint-Étienne-des-Grès seaplane base. There, you will board a seaplane to go to the Atikamekw community on Matakan Island. End your day with a dinner by the fire and spend the night in a tipi.
- Day 3 – Rowing boat ride and learning about Native American customs
On the third day, you will explore the banks of the Kempt River in a canoe. After lunch, your guides will take you on a hike around the island. Then, explore the village of Matakan.
Later on, you can take part in workshops to make local artisan products and to learn some Atikamekw language. After a traditional dinner around a campfire, you will set off in a canoe to gaze at the stars from the middle of the lake.
- Day 4 – Return by seaplane and relaxing at Baluchon Eco Resort
After a final morning among the Atikamekw community, you will head back south in a seaplane.
You will then arrive back at the Baluchon Eco Village. After a relaxing 45-minute massage, you can take advantage of the health centre and Nordic spa. Then, end your day with a 3-course dinner based on local bistro fare.
- Day 5 – End of stay
Your trip will come to an end after breakfast in the Baluchon Eco Resort.
