Your guided tour begins with a pick-up at your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki. Your private guide will then lead you through hidden paths and unspoilt landscapes, sharing interesting anecdotes about the region's history and culture. Along the way, you'll visit the hidden monastery of Ypapanti and the ruins of Saint Dimitrios.

The hidden monastery of Ypapanti is an old abandoned monastery, accessible mainly on foot. The Ypapanti monastery was built in the 14th century and is now fully restored and renovated.

The ruins of Saint Dimitrios, was one of the largest churches in Greece and one of the most important sanctuaries of the Greek Orthodox Church. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

Afterwards, you'll have the chance to visit one of the most impressive monasteries, the Great Meteor or Varlaam, where you'll discover the cultural and religious significance of these ancient buildings of Byzantine architecture.

The Great Meteor is the largest and highest monastery in the region, at an altitude of 615m. It is the only monastery on the site to have remained unoccupied since its creation. Opposite is the Varlaam monastery, 375m above sea level, offering an unobstructed terrace with a breathtaking view of the valley and its monasteries.

On the way back, you'll take the old path that monks used for centuries, before roads were built.
