Description

Hike through the Queimadas Forest Park and follow the Levada Caldeirão Verde to the town of Santana!

From Funchal you'll reach the Queimadas Forest Park in northern Madeira. Your professional mountain guide will take you along the trails of the Levada Caldeirão Verde and guide you to the most beautiful viewpoints. You'll hike along watercourses passing waterfall after waterfall along the way.

The hike will end in the village of Santana, renowned for its traditional colorful wooden houses with thatched roofs.

You'll be driven back to Funchal after a full day in northern Madeira.

Good to know

  • Availability: Saturday (except in exceptional cases)
  • Starting point: Estrada Monumental in Funchal or from your hotel located in downtown Funchal
  • In the case of departure from a hotel or personalized address, the exact pick-up time and location will be confirmed to you after booking. If your hotel is located outside Funchal, a supplement of €10 will be charged on site 
  • Path suitable for beginners: 13km for an estimated walking time of 4h30
  • Whatever the weather conditions, remember to wear sturdy, comfortable shoes
  • The activity does not require a minimum booking, however this activity requires a minimum of 4 participants in total (if the minimum number of people is not reached, an alternative date will be proposed)
