Enjoy a self-guided visit to the headquarters of the largest Western monastic order of the Middle Ages. Founded in 910, the abbey was sold in 1748 and became a national property. Explore the remains of its destroyed abbey church and the 18th-century buildings which were restored in 2010. A 3D film is available that shows how the abbey church used to be.
The Museum of Art and Archaeology, located in the Jean de Bourbon Palace, exhibits sculptural works from the abbey and the town.
