After meeting up with your guide in the early morning, you'll travel by coach to Leeds Castle. You'll enjoy early entry, allowing you to be among the first groups to enter the castle. Located in the Kent countryside, this castle was home to Henry VIII during the plague that struck London. You'll be free to visit the castle and its gardens, and can sample mead**, an alcoholic beverage once consumed by the Vikings.
You'll then continue on to the medieval town of Canterbury, the historic center of Christianity in England. You'll have the opportunity to freely visit (optional) its famous cathedral, where Archbishop Thomas Becket was assassinated in 1170.
You'll also stop off at the Battle of Britain Memorial, erected in tribute to the airmen who defended British skies between July and October 1940. Located facing the sea, you can enjoy a view of the white cliffs of Dover and the English Channel.
Your excursion will continue to Greenwich where you'll discover Sir Christopher Wren's naval architecture and the famous sailing ship Cutty Sark.
Finally, you'll board a boat for a cruise along the Thames to Embankment Pier. Enjoy views of London landmarks such as the Tower Bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral (entrance fees not included).
