Join Ginette on a bike tour and a visit to a traditional brewery to discover London’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
Upstream from London, the banks of the Thames are a perfect place to cycle. Ride past historic houses and pubs, while Ginette explains what life was like in the region throughout the ages, going back to Roman and Saxon times.
The tour continues along the river to where students from Cambridge and Oxford Universities train for the famous annual rowing races. You’ll cross the River Thames several times to see different points of interest.
At the end of the morning you'll see a traditional brewery and stop at the brewery shop. You will also have the chance to try some local ale for yourself.
Ginette will then recommend a pub for a typically British lunch.
If you have chosen the full-day tour, your ride will continue past riverside docks and houseboats to Syon Park, where you’ll stop for a picnic-style afternoon tea. The ride will then come to its final destination, Richmond Palace. This former royal dwelling is partially in ruins, but you can admire the surviving parts of its imposing structure from the road.
