Discover Kyoto's iconic sites on a guided bus tour!
Kyoto was Japan's imperial capital from 794 to 1868, and today remains the country's cultural heart with its many temples, shrines and traditional gardens.
You'll start your day by meeting your guide and the group at Kyoto station in the morning. You'll first visit the sanctuary Fushimi Inari Taisha, dedicated to the deity Inari, and one of Japan's most iconic monuments. Escape beneath its many red torii portals -the shrine boasts 10,000 of them!
Next stop: the temple Kiyomizu-dera, listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1994. Built into the hillside, this Buddhist complex with its impressive wooden structure offers a panoramic view of the city.
After this morning rich in discovery, you'll enjoy a buffet lunch, where you can sample a variety of traditional dishes.
The afternoon will begin with a visit to the Arashiyama district, where you can stroll through the famous bamboo forest and visit the Tenryuji temple.
For the next stop, you'll visit the famous Golden Pavilion, also called Kinkakuji temple. The top two floors of this famous temple (also a UNESCO site) are entirely covered in gold leaf.
Finally, you'll end the day with a stop at the Kyoto Handicraft Center, a center dedicated to traditional handicrafts. After this visit, you'll be driven back to Kyoto station.
