Discover Cappadocia and its picturesque scenery during this 2,3 or 4-day excursion to Cappadocia !
- Day 1: Kayseri – Devrent Valley – Goreme
Leaving Istanbul we fly to the city of Kayseri by plane. Here we will explore the surreal and breathtaking landscape of the Devrent Valley, also known as the Pink Valley. We will visit Göreme natural park and the Pasabag Valley, characteristic of Cappadocia region, with rock fairy chimney formations over 10m high. The will end in at Uchisar Castle, the highest point in the region, with breathtaking views across the Pink Valley!
There will be a local dinner, then you will be returned to your hotel.
- Day 2: The Red Valley – village of Cavusin – Esentepe
It the Kizil Cukur valley, known as the Red Valley, we will discover a array of amazing colours across the fairy chimneys, apricot trees, and ochre rocks of the Valley. We will also visit the underground city of Kaymakli, which served as a hiding place for Christians during Byzantine attacks. The day will end in Esentepe, where we will admire views of more fairy chimneys. Before you returning to your hotel, or catching the plane back to Istanbul (depending on the option selected), we will stop at Pigeon Valley, where you can see the largest collection of dovecotes in the world!
- Day 3: The Ihlara Valley - Belisirma - the monasteries of Yaprakhisar and Selime
During the third day of the tour we will visit the palaeo-Christian underground city of Derinkuyu, considered to be the largest of its type in Turkey. We will walk through the Ihlara Valley, and then in Belisirma where we will stop for a lunch break. After lunch we will drive to Selime and Yaprakhisar to explore their famous monasteries, before returning to the hotel or catching the plane back to Istanbul (depending on the option selected)
- Day 4: Soganli Valley– Damsa Lake - Taskinpasa - Cemil
On the last day of the tour we will visit the Soganli Valley, famous for its volcanic activity and the tuff rock formations consisting of lava, ash and mud. We will visit the Greek houses in Mustafa Pasa and walk around Lake Damsa. Then onto the Keslik Monastery, also known as the Monastery of the Archangels, after which we will visit Cemil. In Cemil you will find typical Greek houses and panoramic views of the surrounding area.
In the evening you will catch a plane back to Istanbul in the company of your guide.
