Description

Explore Tasmania’s natural wonders on an active day tour featuring waterfalls, wildlife, and a panoramic mountain summit from Hobart!

You will be picked up from your hotel in Hobart or meet at the central meeting point before heading to Mount Field National Park, one of Tasmania’s oldest national parks, located about 1.5 hours away.

You will begin with a walk along the famous Three Falls Circuit. You will discover Russell Falls, where water cascades down in three distinct tiers. You will then continue through the lush rainforest to the peaceful Horseshoe Falls before joining the Tall Trees Track. Here, you will walk beneath towering Swamp Gum eucalyptus trees rising over 80 metres into the sky. Keen walkers can continue on to Lady Barron Falls to complete the loop.

Next, you will visit the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to encounter Tasmania’s iconic wildlife. During an informative guided tour led by the sanctuary staff, you will learn about rare and protected species. You will have the opportunity to hand-feed wallabies and observe native animals up close.

At the end of the day, you will head to the summit of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, standing 1,271 metres above sea level. You will enjoy sweeping views over Hobart, the surrounding mountains, and the Derwent River. After this final stop, you will be transferred back to your original departure point in the late afternoon.
