Set out to discover the history and culture of Hawaii and Oceania during a visit to the Bishop Museum in Honolulu!
Visitors will be able to walk through the three floors of Hawaiian Hall, and learn more about Hawaiian culture. Explore the Pacific Hall, where you can learn about the history and culture of Oceania in general through numerous objects, chants, and videos. You will also be able to discover Hawaiian art from the 19th century and admire paintings, photography, and rare books.
Visitors will also have access to the Nā Ulu Kaiwi‘ula gardens, outside the museum. Here, you can see many Hawaiian plants and learn about their importance to culture on the islands. You will also be able to visit the Richard T. Mamiya Science Adventure Center, which houses immersive and interactive exhibits that will teach you about the research being carried out in Hawaii, notably concerning volcanology, oceanography, and biodiversity.
