Discover Jiankou, Mutianyu, Gubeikou and Jinshanling along the Great Wall of China on a tour led by a local guide!
- Day 1: Jiankou
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Jiankou section of the Great Wall, passing by the Olympic park.
Once you arrive at Jiankou, you will hike for 4 or 5 hours along this winding, steep section of the Great Wall. This section is rarely visited as it is difficult to access.
You will have dinner and sleep in a bed and breakfast.
- Day 2: Mutianyu
The next morning, after your traditional breakfast, you will walk along Mutianyu, one of the most popular parts of the Great Wall with tourists. In contrast with the wilder, unkempt Jiankou section, the watchtowers here have been completely restored.
You will spend the night in a hotel in Gubeikou.
- Day 3: Gubeikou
This section of the Great Wall is made of two parts: one that was built during the Ming dynasty around 1368, and the other dating from 550 (the Beiqi dynasty). This is the best-preserved section of the wall near Beijing.
Here, you can admire the “wild” side of the Great Wall; it is steep and built on the mountainside. You will walk through farms and villages before reaching Zhuanduokou, where you will spend the night.
- Day 4: Jinshanling
On the last day, you will walk to Jinshanling, a part of the Great Wall of China that is difficult to access but very well conserved. This section has the most watchtowers of all the parts of the Wall.
You will have lunch with your guide before returning to Beijing.
