Description

Set off from Frankfurt to spend a day discovering two major German cities: Wiesbaden and Mainz.

Accompanied by your guide, travel by bus to Wiesbaden and Mainz, two historical cities which face each other across the Rhine.

Your first stop will be in Wiesbaden, the capital of the Hesse federal state, to which Frankfurt equally belongs. Explore this elegant city, famous for its 26 hot springs, by strolling among its villas, wide avenues and historic buildings.

Your guide will show you the city’s impressive casino, and tell you how Wiesbaden became known for it’s pleasant way of life.

Next, you’ll take a funicular railway up the slopes of the Neroberg hill to admire the panoramic views across Wiesbaden and visit the Russian church at its summit.

Once you’ve made your way back down you’ll cross the Rhine into the neighbouring state or “Land” of Rhineland-Palatinate to visit its capital: Mainz.

Discover the rich history of this ancient city, which was founded over 2,000 years ago and partially destroyed during the Second World War.

Your guide will show you around the old town and tell you all kinds of facts and stories about this historical site where Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1450.

You’ll also have time to visit the monumental St. Martin’s Cathedral before getting back on the bus and returning to Frankfurt.
