Excursion to Machu Picchu by train - From Cuzco

Take a train ride to Machu Picchu and explore the ruins of Peru's most famous city!

You'll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Cuzco train station to catch the train to Aguas Calientes, near Machu Picchu.

Your adventure will begin on the train where you can admire the stunning scenery thanks to the train's panoramic windows. You'll see the suspension bridge that marks the beginning of the Inca Trail. The train follows the course of the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes.

After approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes you'll arrive at the Aguas Calientes train station and board a bus to Machu Picchu.

You'll then follow your guide through the ruins of this ancient Inca city. You'll learn more about the history of this sacred city, which was built in 1450 and abandoned 100 years later when the Spanish arrived.

You can explore the different squares and climb the stone staircases. You'll see the "Intihuatana", the sun clock. You'll enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley.

In the afternoon you'll head back to Aguas Calientes to catch the train to Cuzco.
