Immerse yourself in the world of the kings of France with a visit to the Royal Château of Amboise!

Explore this jewel of the Renaissance, a symbol of royal power at its height. Overlooking the Loire, the château offers an exceptional historical and natural setting.

The favourite residence of King François I, the château was at the centre of major events at court. Discover the elegance of its architecture and the traces left by the sovereigns of the time.

You will visit the Saint-Hubert chapel, recently restored after an extensive restoration project lasting almost three years. The painstaking work has restored the whole structure to its former glory, from the whitewashed façades to the gilded ornamentation on the spire. This solemn site is home to the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci, an emblematic figure of the Renaissance and a close friend of the king.

You will then stroll through the hanging gardens, 2 hectares of landscaped terraces overlooking the valley. The breathtaking views of the river and its banks will make your visit an unforgettable experience.

Thanks to the included Histopad, you can enjoy an interactive tour in augmented reality. This tablet will transport you back to the time of the kings, with immersive reconstructions of the castle's rooms, their furnishings and their occupants.

Availability: Every day (except December 25 and January 1 and exceptional cases)
Hours: 10 am to 6:30 pm weekdays / 9 am to 6:30 pm weekends (given as an indication, please visit the monument's website to check opening times)
Entrance to the château is possible until 45 min before closing time
Duration: self-guided tour (half a day is recommended)
When booking, you will be asked to indicate a tentative date. However, you can use your ticket on the date of your choice (use-by date: December 31, 2025)
Purchased tickets are nominative, and you may be asked to show proof of identity
Entrance is free for children under 7
Adults aged between 18 and 25 benefit from a special rate (to be paid on site) subject to presentation of ID on site
Dogs are allowed on site. They must be carried into the residence and kept on a leash in the park
