Description

Discover the famous Château du Clos Lucé, a historic monument in the Châteaux de la Loire region and once the home of Leonardo da Vinci!

Dating back to the end of the 15th century, the château served as the royal residence of the kings of France for many years. A few years later, in the early 16th century, Leonardo da Vinci was invited to stay there by King Francis I. He would spend the last years of his life there. Le Clos Lucé thus became not only his place of residence, but also a place of creation as the 'King's First Painter, Engineer, and Architect'.

Peruse the rooms of the château and discover the works of Leonardo da Vinci while immersing yourself in 800 years of history.

Don’t forget to wander around the grounds and explore Leonardo's Garden and the Parc Leonardo da Vinci. Stroll through the garden and see the influences that nature had on Leonardo's work. To conclude your visit, delve into the creative realm of the 'Master’ thanks to the park's numerous interactive experiences.

The Château du Clos Lucé continues its mission to recreate the worlds of Leonardo da Vinci in a new cultural and exhibition facility. Take an immersive and interactive tour and uncover two major facets of Leonardo da Vinci's expertise: painting and architecture!
