Discover the best of the Riviera Maya on a one-day excursion: Tulum, sea turtles in Akumal, and a dip in a cenote!
After an early transfer from your hotel or accommodation, you'll arrive at the archaeological site of Tulum on the Caribbean coast at around 9 am. This natural setting makes Tulum truly unique! Your professional guide will tell you everything you need to know about the Mayan civilization and this ancient maritime trade centre that was shared with other Mayan cities on the peninsula. You'll then enjoy some free time to take plenty of photos!
Head on to Akumal's turtle bay, which is a little further north along the coast. Go for a snorkelling session and say hi to all the sea turtles! As the underwater visibility is exceptional in this area, you'll also be able to see a multitude of colourful fish, as well as some impressive coral and rock formations.
You'll then drive to the Yucatán rainforest (about a 20-min drive) to discover a cenote, a natural freshwater pools found only in this part of the world. After some explanation from the guide, you will swim in the crystal-clearfresh waters of a "cave cenote”, and marvel at the thousands of spectacular stalagmites and stalactites that surround you
You'll then dig into a buffet lunch of traditional dishes: Cochinita Pibil (typical Yucatán pork dish) or Tinga de Pollo (chicken), rice, black beans, home-made tortillas, and soft drinks.
You'll be driven back to your hotel around 4 pm.
