Go for a day rich in discovery with the archaeological sites of Yaxunah and Chichen Itza!
While Chichen Itza is the most visited and best-known site in Mexico, many other Mayan relics have been discovered in the Yucatán Peninsula; such as the site of Yaxunah, which is only accessible through this tour, organised in cooperation with a Mayan community.
After an early departure from Cancun or Playa Del Carmen, and after about 4 hours of driving, you will be met by your local guide, a member of the Mayan community. You go with him to the site of Yaxunah, to discover its well-preserved, almost untouched ruins.
You will go in search of the impressive pyramids hidden in the middle of the lush jungle and learn more about all the secrets of this site in order to better understand the history of the Maya peoples.
After this exploration, you will reach the village of Yaxunah, where you will meet the community living there, for an authentic visit.
You will then enjoy free time to have lunch at a restaurant not far from the community (not included) and explore the area before heading to the seventh wonder of the world: the site of Chichen Itza(ticket to be purchased on-site). Your certified guide will then take you on a tour and tell you the myths and secrets of this UNESCO protected archaeological site. The contrast between the intact ruins of Yaxunah and the restored Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the modern world, will undoubtedly impress you.
After this very rewarding excursion, you will drive back to the coast and be dropped back at the departure point.
