Description

Discover the archaeological wonders of Yucatán, take a dip in a Cenote, and visit the charming city of Valladolid with a small group and a guide!

You will be picked up either from your hotel or one of the available meeting points.

In the early morning, enjoy a visit to the archaeological site of Cobá, located inland, about 40 km from Tulum and 105 km from Playa del Carmen. This ancient Mayan city was the most powerful town in northern Yucatán, rivalling Chichen Itza and covering an immense 70 square kilometres. Five local lakes and lagoons certainly had a role to play in its development. Most of the site is still buried in the forest, and only the pyramids can be seen. Among the highlights are the impressive Nohoch Mul temple, the tallest pyramid on the peninsula standing tall at 42 metres.

Next, it's time to head to Valladolid. This charming colonial town is famous for its colourful streets. Take a peek at the central square built around the church of San Servacio. After this tour, you can have lunch.

If you have chosen a transfer from your hotel, a buffet lunch is included in the price of the excursion.

In the early afternoon, head off to the Saamal Cenote in the heart of the jungle. The Cenotes are natural chasms created by the erosion of limestone and partially filled with fresh water. A true natural swimming pool, they have become a must-see when visiting Yucatán.

The last visit of the day will be to one of the seven wonders of the modern world: Chichen Itza. During your guided tour, admire the El Castillo pyramid, the temple of the warriors, and El Caracol, the city's circular astronomical observatory.

Finally, you'll be driven back to your hotel or meeting point after a day immersed in the must-see sites of the Yucatan Peninsula!
