Discover the Mutianyu Great Wall and the Forbidden City on a private tour departing from your hotel in Beijing!
After being picked up from your hotel in Beijing, you will begin your day with a visit to the famous Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace. A true symbol of the Chinese Empire, it contains over 9,000 rooms, including some of the most iconic structures:
- The Hall of Supreme Harmony, where official ceremonies were held
- The Hall of Perfect Harmony, used for banquets
- The Palace of Heavenly Purity and the Throne Room
- The imperial residences and the concubines’ quarters
After this journey through imperial history, you will head to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, a less crowded site compared to Badaling or Juyongguan.
You will stop for lunch at a local restaurant to enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall. Built during the Ming Dynasty, this section is known for its panoramic views and scenic mountain surroundings.
Upon arrival, you can choose to reach the top on foot (a 30 to 45-minute walk) or take a cable car to the summit, located at 1,015 meters above sea level. For the descent, a toboggan ride is also available (not included).
You will have about 2.5 hours on-site to explore this part of the wall at your own pace. The site is suitable for children and elderly visitors.
By late afternoon, you will be driven back to your hotel in Beijing.
