Description

Enjoy an excursion to the Montserrat mountain range with a cava tasting session and lunch!

You will meet your private guide in Barcelona city centre.

Firstly you will head to Montserrat. You will enjoy a guided tour of Santa Maria Basilica and will discover the famous sculpture "La Moreneta" (the virgin of Montserrat).

You will then take the funicular up Montserrat. Marvel at the amazing views of the surrounding area and explore at your leisure other nearby mountains.

After having gone back down the mountain in the funicular, you will head off to a rural restaurant. You will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared with local produce.

Before returning to Barcelona you will stop off in one of the region's vineyards. You will visit the wine cellar and will learn about how wine and cava are made. You will then take part in a tasting session with produce from the property.

You will return to Barcelona in the late afternoon.

  • I think you and Pol were concerned that we would be exhausted after a full day touring, from Montserrat to the winery to the castellers in Villafranca. While it was a long day, it was one of the best days of the trip. Pol was superb in his planning and pacing of all the events – Montserrat was a special place. We enjoyed the restaurant he chose for lunch – it really showed us the local scene and we would have NEVER found it on our own! And the castellers – WOW! If you have never seen this event in person, you really should. Ask Pol to take you! Hank made a short video and everyone who’s seen it has been amazed. My 5 year-old grand niece wants to be an anxaneta!
