Description

Prepare you to spend 2 amazing days in the Bay of Islands, one of the most visited sites of New Zealand! After leaving your hotel you will travel by minibus to the north of the island. The schedule for the excursion is as follows:

  • Day 1: Discover the New Zealand coast and guided tour of Russell

Follow the coast and its beautiful scenery. We will see many beaches and a major historic site: the Waitangi Treaty House. This place saw the signing of the treaty between the Maori and European pioneers and the official creation of New Zealand in 1840. Stops and visits will help you make the most of these exceptional sites.

On arrival in the Bay of Islands we will take a ferry to the town of Russell. There will be a mini guided tour of Russell and you can go shopping along the waterfront. We will then return to Paihia for the night. 

  • Day 2: Bay of Islands cruise and free time in Paihia

For your second day in the Bay of Islands, we will enjoy a 3 hour cruise to Cape Brett. Enjoy extraordinary scenery and hopefully encounter many dolphins! 

There will be plenty of free time to relax on the beach or visit the shops on the sea front. In late afternoon, the bus will take you on a leisurely trip back to your hotel in Auckland.

(1) The price shown is the price per person for a booking with a room for 3 persons.

For this activity we request that you book the number of rooms required for your tour. Rooms for 1 person have a single bed, rooms for 2 people have twin beds and a room for 3 people has 3 single beds. Children under 5 years of age can participate at no extra cost if they are able to share their parent's bed. 

--> Example: by booking 1 "Tour with a room for 3 people", 3 people can take part in the activity and will share a room.

 

 

You must also choose one of the following options at time of booking:

  • VIP Excursion: during the 2 day tour you will stay at the Copthorne Millennium hotel in Paihia (4 star hotel). Relax in the hotel's swimming pools in natural surroundings and located just opposite the lake front. 
  • Standard Excursion: during the 2 day tour you will stay at the Kingsgate Autolodge in Paihia (3/4 star hotel). This seaside hotel is loved by tourists. It has a great swimming pool and games room.

Good to know

  • Availability: every day (except in exceptional circumstances)
  • Duration: 2 days
  • Departure time: 7:30am (pick up from your hotel between 6:40am and 7:20am)
  • To take part in this activity simply present your booking voucher to the local tour operator
  • Return to Auckland around 8:00pm
  • Dolphins are seen on over 90% of sailings, but we cannot guarantee they will be spotted on your trip.
  • Please note that meals are not included in this excursion
