  • Day 1: sheep shearing, Pennington Bay, Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, Seal Bay and free time in the camp

After being picked up from your hotel in Adelaide, you will be driven to Adelaide Central Bus Station, from where you will take a shuttle to the cruise departure point at Cape Jervis. Then, climb on board a ferry, which will take you to Kangaroo Island (45 mins approx.).

Once on site, in Penneshaw, you will board a shuttle bus and start your excursion with a visit to Rob’s Sheep Shearing, where you will see a traditional sheep shearing session. You will then head to Pennington Bay, a beach with breathtaking views.

Your activities will continue with a visit to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, the only eucalyptus oil distillery still active in Australia. You will also pass by Seal Bay, where you will have the chance to see a sea lion colony up close, or even Little Sahara and its huge sand dunes.

You will then stop off at Vivonne Bay Lodge, where you will spend some free time on the banks of the Harriet River. There, you can go kayaking, swimming or go for a walk or a bike ride. You will return to the camp in the evening for a barbecue and various evening activities.

After breakfast, head directly to Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. There, you can see koalas lounging in eucalyptus trees and kangaroos. You will then continue to Flinders Chase National Park and see its Remarkable Rocks, enormous blocks of granite sculpted by nature. Finally, after your barbecue, you will go to watch the fur seals on the rocks of the coast.

In the afternoon, you will head to the beautiful beaches of Stokes Bay and go for a walk around Ironstone Hill in search of wallabies and breathtaking views of the region. In the evening, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Adelaide. You will be dropped off at around 11pm.
